The Hockley Winter Foursomes 2024 Rules

Round dates and tee times
1st round. 3rd November 07:12 - 09:28.
2nd round. 17th November 07:12 - 10:24.
Reserve day. 24th November 07:12 - 10:24. (this can be removed if the 2nd round is played on 17th November).
3rd round. 1st December. 07:12 - 09:20.
Quarter finals. 5th January. 07:12 - 08:48.
Reserve day. 12th January. 07:12 - 08:48. (This can be removed if the quarter-finals are played on 5th January).
Semi finals. 26th January. 07:12 - 08:32.
Finals & plate. 2nd February. 07:12 - 12:00.

All entrants must hold a WHS Handicap and be members of an EGU affiliated Golf Club.
Members of the England Golf Independent Scheme are not eligible for entry.

Players will not be eligible to take part unless they have submitted acceptable scores to
WHS for a minimum of 9 rounds (162 holes), of which 3 rounds (54 holes) are qualify

Tee times will commence from 08:00 in each round.

Format & Conditions
1. Foursomes match play to a finish – handicap allowance of half the combined difference.
2. Plate Competition – foursomes stableford for all pairs knocked out in their first game.
3. Open to all players, Men, Ladies, Amateur or Professional.
4. Men shall play off the Black Tees, Ladies off the Blue Tees.
5. The entry will be limited to 32 pairs and if oversubscribed, the highest combined
handicaps will be balloted out in order.
6. Prizes will be awarded to the Winners, Runners-up and Third & Fourth places.
7. Prizes will be awarded to the Winners and Runners-up of the Plate Competition.
8. The committee reserve the right to accept or refuse any entry without assigning a reason
and to replace pairs who have withdrawn after the draw has been published. Competitors
not on the 1st Tee ready to start at their allocated times will be penalised in accordance
with R&A Rules & Regulations. The Committee's decision on any matter connected with the
competition shall be final.
9. Competitors are asked to be aware of any trolley restrictions that may apply during the
winter, as no dispensation will be given under any circumstances.

CLOSING DATE – SUNDAY 20th OCTOBER 2024

A practice round on a weekday will be possible for Visitors once the draw as been made (Subject to course availability)
The draw will be posted on the Hockley Website on Friday 25th October 2024
