Welcome to the Hockley Winter Foursomes

Established in 1959, the Hockley Winter Foursomes remains one of Hampshire's longest-standing open winter competitions. With Hockley’s renowned downland chalk providing excellent playing conditions, it offers a superb opportunity to compete throughout the winter months. Naturally, as a winter event, some matches may be played in less favourable weather.

This competition is open to both amateur and professional men and women. IGolf members are not eligible to take part.

All players must hold a WHS handicap and must have completed 162 holes of golf, with at least 54 of those in competitive play, within the 12 months preceding each round. Failure to meet these requirements will result in withdrawal from the competition.

All rounds must be played on the specific dates listed below. Alternate dates may be offered in the event of inclement weather, at the club’s discretion. If you are unable to play after the draw has been made, you will need to withdraw from the competition.

Round 1 – Sunday 2nd November
Round 2 – Sunday 16th November
Reserve Day 1 – Sunday 23rd November
Round 3 – Sunday 30th November
Quarter-Final – Sunday 4th January
Reserve Day 2 – Sunday 11th January
Semi-Final – Sunday 25th January
Final & Plate – Sunday 1st February

All players defeated in their first match will automatically be entered into the Foursomes Stableford Plate Competition, which is played on Finals Day.

Complimentary midweek practice rounds are available prior to the commencement of the competition. These can be booked through the Professional Shop on 01962 713165 (option 2).

Should the number of entries exceed the maximum of 64 pairs, a ballot will take place with the pairs holding the highest combined handicaps being balloted out. The Club reserves the right to refuse any entry at its absolute discretion and without obligation to provide a reason

Entry fees are as follows: Member/Member £50, Member/Guest £85, Guest/Guest £120. Please note that entries are not considered complete until payment has been received.

Entries close on Sunday 19th October. The draw will be conducted the following day and circulated to all players.
