Members can ring the club (on 01962 713165) and choose the option1, which goes through to the greenkeeper's answerphone for an early morning update if frost is a possibility. General background information for this page In order to assist members to assess whether or not trolleys are likely to be allowed, notices are posted at the club and on this website during the winter period - identifying when there may be possible restrictions on trolleys arising from forecast rainfall or heavy frost.
It should be stressed that these are forecasts to assist members, and actual decisions to restrict trolleys will always only be taken by the Head Greenkeeper on the morning of each days play - so if the forecast has been incorrect and rain or frost has not happened then no restrictions will be in place. Of course, conversely there may be occasions when heavy rain occurs when it has not been forecast, so please be aware that the possibility of a restriction at short notice will still exist, and if in doubt please ring the pro shop.
Please be aware that once the course condition has reached the stage where permission for motorized trolleys is withdrawn, it will require approximately 48 hours of drying weather before permission is granted once more.
The prediction for the foreseeable future is that all trolleys and buggies will be permitted
For information, the general principles that are adopted are that in the event of:
- Heavy snow - The course will be closed.
- Overnight frosts - There will be restrictions on ALL trolleys
for the first hour or so of play until the frost lifts
- Heavy fog
The course will be closed until any fog disperses and it is safe to play. (As always, a final decision will be made first thing on the morning in question and in the light of actual weather). If you are intending to leave home before this site is updated you should ring the Pro Shop if you need confirmation as to current permissions, or alternatively, members can ring the Club (on 01962 713165) and choose the option 1 which goes through to the greenkeeper's answerphone for an early morning update.
