Hockley Golf Club will be celebrating the first 100 years of existence in 2014.
Your Centenary Committee has been working on the programme of events for the year and on raising funds to assist with the celebrations and to, hopefully, provide a legacy of the Centenary. The centrepiece for the year will be a Centenary Week of golf in June, but there will be various other golfing and social occasions taking place throughout the season. The input of ideas from all, will be gratefully received and considered, as the object of the year is for fun to be had by members and guests alike.
Fund-raising is an ongoing activity to allow us to have a full schedule of events in 2014, and we are very grateful to all those who bought tickets for the recent Grand Membership Draw for a year’s subscription. Well done to Glen Clements on winning this draw. This event will continue on an annual basis so we can have a lucky winner each year!
The ‘100 Club’ is continuing to provide four winners (3 x £50 & 1 x £250) each month. A £5 per month contribution entitles you to 48 draws per annum and the generous payout is equivalent to 75% of the funds received. In August this year we will be holding an exciting ‘100 Club’ golfing event with very good financial prizes (not quite enough to contravene your Amateur status) as a way of saying “thank you” to ‘100 Club’ members. To be eligible to play in the event you will have to be a current member of the ‘100 Club’. Please see the Club notice board for ways to enter, or contact a member of the Centenary Committee – and to look out for details of the Golf Event in August.

What do we need from you? Please get your thinking caps on and let us have your ideas so that we can make our Centenary year really memorable. The more ideas the better and please make them as conventional or wacky as you like
