Hockley Golf Club is a private members’ club established in 1914 with a deserved reputation for providing some of the best year-round playing conditions in the south of England.
For 2012 we have recognised the difficulties that young golfers face as they transition from Intermediate to full membership, and introduced lower rates for those between the ages of 25 and 34.
We have also introduced a new ‘Academy’ membership. This allows for an introduction to golf membership which is limited to 1 year and provides the member with the opportunity to have lessons in a club environment, utilise the club facilities and meet new friends.
As a member of Hockley, the benefits that you will get are:
- Playing a first class downland ‘links’ style course which is in the top echelon of courses in Hampshire.
- A James Braid designed golf course, set on 240 acres of historic chalk downland, that drains exceptionally well resulting in very few days of closure.
- A range of facilities that includes one of the best practice areas in Hampshire with a large driving range with covered bays, a chipping area, a practice bunker and a practice putting green. There are plans to further improve this facility during 2012.
- Our resident professional and his qualified staff provide expert tuition, a friendly welcome and a well-stocked shop.
- Our clubhouse is the ideal place to relax after your round. The range of menu options caters for most tastes and there is a fully licensed restaurant and bar.
- No Tee reservations for general play.
- A full calendar of competitions and knock-out events.
- Reciprocal agreements with NINE other quality clubs in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Isle of Wight throughout the year, plus members guests rates at many other clubs all around the country through our membership of the James Braid Society.
- Inter-club matches for all standards of ladies & gentlemen.
- Access to the County Card scheme giving discounted golf at clubs in 17 counties.
- A discount of 10% on bar and catering via a members loyalty card.
- Easy access to club from the M3.
- Society play is limited to Wednesday and Fridays by prior arrangement.
A few 5 & 7 day membership vacancies are currently available. Our joining fee (normally £750) has been temporarily suspended.
Annual subscriptions run from 1st April each year. The rates for 2012/2013 are shown below. Any subscriptions for new members after the 1st April will be charged on a pro-rata monthly basis.

Arrangements for payment by instalment are in place.
